to eat / birthday treats

I received many sugar-laden treats for my birthday. Talk about major sugar overload and pressure to consume. I usually take a bite (visibly seen below) and photograph it if I have my camera handy. And, if you’re around me, I’ll force you eat some. Works best in the office!
(l to r) Chocolate or meringue covered alfajores from Buenos Aires. Doughnut holes from Bouchon Bakery.

Of course, it didn’t help that I’d stopped at Sublime Doughnuts in Atlanta on my way home. It’d come with strong recommendations. I grabbed a box and probably only ate 30% of it. Stale doughnuts are no good.
(l to r) Sublime fresh strawberry and cream, dream star, and something on top of a butter toffee doughnut. Best eaten fresh. If you’re in NYC, I highly recommend Doughnut Plant.

Not pictured: Honeydew cake from Taipan bakery, various items from Financier Patisserie, box of chocolate’s from Lily O’Briens, and nutter butter cookie from Bouchon.
