I love autumn, partially because it is jacket season. I love jackets, coats, and blazers. If you’ve been in the stores lately, you can’t miss all the capes in the air. J.Crew has two right now — the camel/black merino wool streetscape cape (it runs big) and the wool great caper in gray and camel. Loft’s leather trimmed double breasted cape looks much better in their lookbook. The lack in quality shows. Leave it to Rachel Zoe to include a cape with dramatic flair in her collection — the $700 Ali Wrap Collar Cape has flown off the shelves.
This DKNY cape tunic dress is striking, especially with a statement leather belt looped around the waist, but a bit cost prohibitive.
I got a versatile black boiled wool cape from Muji last winter that has yet to see the light of day. Some of these interpretations are too trendy for me, so I will be sticking to my Muji one… for now :)
