Chie Mihara was born in Brazil of Japanese descent, trained in Japan/NYC/Spain, and founded her self-named shoe line in Spain. She worked at a orthopedic shoe store, so her shoes are super comfortable which is a must for me. Everything is constructed in Spain so the quality is also top notch. I found these Yakitoy Ostrich pumps on sale for a great price during the Saks after-Christmas sale. I ended up returning the gray Pradas I mentioned here.
On sizing, I am typically an US 8. I wear 38.5 in Chie Mihara.
This particular style/color is available in very limited sizes since it’s “last” season. Find them here and if you have big feet, you can find some here. For this season, it is also available in a beautiful nude suede (sand) here, in red suede here, and in a chic black/white. I love the first and last the most!
The colorful Vory style (Jujube Heels in Anthropologie-speak) are adorable. The nude/gray version also strikes my fancy. The Anouska style is practical and looks comfy, not to mention on sale. Unfortunately, I don’t wear much brown.
You can find Chie Mihara at many independent shoe stores online, Anthropologie, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylors, and Neiman Marcus. There is also an outlet in Spain… Chie Mihara has many variations of any particular style, but most don’t make it over the ocean. Happy shopping!
