We went to Gap today with the intent to return, but ended up picking some odds and ends (’tis the season to buy baby presents!). It helps that there is a 50% off almost everything early Black Friday promotion (which a lot of places seem to be doing) and GapCash promotion going on. (This sale ends Sunday night. If you’re not a cardholder, it’s 40% off. You can always wait for next week if you miss it.) I really like teddy bears with no embellishments and babyGap has four styles: floral, plaid, rainbow stripes, and marled. Sadly there are no measurements online (note to Gap, please add measurements!) so I waited for an in-store visit. They are roughly 8 inches high. I also ended up getting this fur hat from the girls’ department. Surprisingly the L/XL size fit.
Old Navy has a 40% off sale online with code BIGDEAL. Some exclusions apply and it also ends today.
I’d been looking hard for a leopard coat this season (and even saved up some material for a post, but never got to it). It’s hard to find the right print, fabric, weight, and fit! I like this Talbots brushed animal jacquard jacket the most – it comes in petites, isn’t very heavy (it’s a wool/poly blend and not jacquard-like at all), and I can layer some Uniqlo ultra light down underneath. It went on sale and is hard to find but if you check the product page, they update mid-day.Other leopard coat contender: this H&M one, DVF Britta (here, here) and this Mango leopard fur coat. I also picked up these loafers. I haven’t been loving most of Talbots’ shoes for a while. They fit TTS and are sturdy. They’ve been having a lot of promotions lately, so pick your poison.
I splurged on this Comme des Garcons leather pouch when Amex had a great offer on Mr Porter (why is the Net-a-Porter CdG collection so lacking?). “Luxury” is one of my favorite CdG lines – the embossed leather is beautiful and the shades of blue or red are perfection. The line is not as easily found as the clover line. You can find it within the US at Mr Porter, Barneys, Nordstrom. and of course CdG-owned Dover Street Market. (I like Mr Porter packaging the most and Nordstrom service.) The print below the pouch above is from my Baggu x Mociun bag in large. You can find the exclusive Baggu x Mociun bags at Mociun online or at their Williamsburg, Brooklyn shop. I do find their online shipping to be expensive, so I waited until I had time to go to Williamsburg. When I visited, these bags were behind the counter, undisplayed. They come in 4 sizes. There is one extra small size (smaller than the baby). Their shop is around the corner from the Baggu shop if you make the visit. (P.S. If you’re an Amex cardholder, sign up to shop small next Saturday and visit Baggu! Amex is supporting small businesses by reimbursing you for up to three transactions of $10+ spent at registered small businesses.)
